Mimetic Film

A thin film drawn from oozes that takes stain, texture and false surface treatment unusually well; favoured for still camouflage and layered concealment.

Applicable items: Cloaks, hoods, shield facings, light armor, outer layers

Traits granted: Mimetic Film

Effects: While the wearer is motionless or pressed against a surface, they gain +1 on Stealth checks.

Scaling profile: Flat: +1 to the listed flat bonus each time the finished item enters a higher item-level band (5, 11, 17).

Crafting requirements: Tools appropriate to the base item, plus a stabilized mimetic film.

Crafting modifiers: +25% raw material cost; Craft DC +1.

Restrictions: Of little use on heavy armor, loud gear, or items meant for constant motion and open display.

Magic items: The item keeps the Mimetic Film trait if it is later made Masterwork or enchanted.
