Spirit Filament

Fine outsider fiber tied to half-seen spirits, omen-bearers and memorial bindings; often used in sacred cords, funeral wraps and warded ornaments.

Applicable items: Charm cords, tassels, veil trim, ritual wraps, prayer knots, worn tokens

Traits granted: Spirit Filament

Effects: While wearing or using the item, the user gains +1 on saves against possession, soul-binding and spirit intrusion.

Scaling profile: Synergy: at each higher item-level band (5, 11, 17), improve one listed interaction with a matching rune, essence trait or item property.

Scaling: Each time the item enters a higher item-level band, improve one Spirit-themed interaction tied to it. If it later gains a Spirit rune or Spirit essence effect, the first Crafting check to add or upgrade that effect gains 1 level of Advantage, or that upgrade's raw material cost drops by 10%.

Crafting requirements: Tools appropriate to the base item, plus properly prepared spirit filament.

Crafting modifiers: +25% raw material cost; Craft DC +1.

Restrictions: Unsuitable for heavy armor cores, broad rigid plates and most blunt striking surfaces.

Magic items: The item keeps the Spirit Filament trait if it is later made Masterwork or enchanted.
