Rending Fang

Fang or claw from a pack-hunting predator, best suited to weapons meant to bring down prey that's already engaged or harried.

Applicable items: Daggers, arrowheads, spear tips, claw fittings, hunting weapons

Traits granted: Rending Fang

Effects: Weapons or ammunition made with it deal +1 damage against creatures adjacent to one of your allies.

Scaling profile: Flat, with its own progression (below).

Scaling: Instead of the default Flat progression, the extra damage equals 1 + the weapon's item bonus.

Crafting requirements: Tools appropriate to the base item, plus properly prepared predator fang or claw.

Crafting modifiers: +25% raw material cost; Craft DC +1.

Restrictions: Unsuitable for broad blades, heavy weapon heads and most armor surfaces.

Magic items: The item keeps the Rending Fang trait if it is later made Masterwork or enchanted.
