Sky Silk

A rare, impossibly light fiber prized for its strength, flexibility and affinity for wind and motion.

Applicable items: Clothing, cloaks, garments, light armor, worn items

Traits granted: Lightweight

Effects: The item weighs half as much as normal (to a minimum of negligible). If it grants a magical effect with the Movement trait, or one created with Motion essence, increase one movement distance or Speed bonus from that effect by 5 feet.

Scaling profile: Hybrid: scales partly through its own effect and partly through a Flat or Synergy step.

Scaling: The weight reduction scales on its own. Each time the item enters a higher item-level band, increase this material's movement bonus by 5 feet.

Crafting requirements: Fine textile or weaving tools, and a workspace suited to delicate clothwork.

Crafting modifiers: +50% raw material cost; Craft DC +2.

Restrictions: Can't be used for most weapons, ammunition, heavy armor or rigid structures.

Magic items: An especially suitable vessel for movement magic: if later made Masterwork or enchanted, it keeps the Lightweight trait and its movement benefits.
