Exterior plating salvaged from constructs, golems and other artificial bodies, valued for its structural stability and engineered resilience.

Applicable items: Armor, shields, helmets, bracers, reinforced casings

Traits granted: Construct Plating

Effects: The finished item gains +1 Hardness.

Scaling profile: Flat, with its own progression (below).

Scaling: Instead of the default Flat progression, the Hardness bonus equals 1 + the item's item bonus, to a maximum of +3.

Crafting requirements: Tools appropriate to the base item, plus properly prepared construct plating.

Crafting modifiers: +25% raw material cost; Craft DC +1.

Restrictions: Unsuitable for flexible garments, delicate clothwork and most items that rely on soft movement or comfort.

Magic items: The item keeps the Construct Plating trait if it is later made Masterwork or enchanted.
