Snare Crafting
Snares are crafted traps made in advance and then set in the field. Making one takes the Snare Crafting talent, a snare kit, a formula, and physical materials such as wire, cord, spikes, springs, bait, resin or blades. Because a snare depends on precise layout and trigger construction, a formula is usually needed even for a common one. Snare formulas are learned, bought, copied or granted by talents (Snare Crafting gives you 4).
Your Crafting ranks must be at least half the snare's level (rounded up) both to build it with the Craft action and to use it. Once triggered, a snare is spent or destroyed and must be reset or rebuilt before it works again, unless its entry says otherwise.
Setting a Snare (Manipulate, Skill, Trained)
A crafted snare must be set before it works. Setting one takes 1 minute unless its entry says otherwise, and it must go in a suitable space or surface, as its entry and the GM decide. When you set it, make a Crafting check: the result is the DC for any creature to notice it. A creature usually notices a snare only if it's searching for hazards, or if the snare's entry says otherwise. When a creature triggers a snare, resolve its listed effect; if it allows a save, the DC is 15 + the snare's level unless its entry says otherwise.
