Planar Binding

During the ritual you prepare a binding trap (a circle, casket, chains, wards and so on), then name or describe the extraplanar creature you seek, or speak its true name if you know it. It makes a Charisma save opposed by your Channeling result.

• If the creature wins, the spell fails and it knows who tried to bind it.
• If you win, it is summoned into the trap and held there until it agrees to a service or breaks free.

Invested: your maximum Strain is reduced by this spell's Strain until the creature is released or escapes.

Breaking free: if no agreement is reached within 24 hours, repeat the opposed check every 24 hours until you agree or it escapes.

Your critical failure: the creature may arrive unbound and act freely (the GM decides).

Optional Modifiers

• Stronger Circle (+1*): Each point of extra Strain you put into this modifier adds 1 to your Channeling result for opposing the creature's save.
